Cupping

Cupping is one of the oldest forms of therapy and has been part of the Finnish sauna tradition for centuries.
Cupping has traditionally been used to relieve many kinds of ailments. In the treatment, negative pressure increases local blood circulation, relaxes the muscles, and supports the body's recovery.
Effects of cupping:
Improved blood circulation and metabolism
Relief of muscle tension and pain
A calmer nervous system and deep relaxation
The effects of the treatment can last up to 10
days. Cupping is a complementary therapy, not a substitute for medical
treatment.
Cupping is not suitable if you
have:
- A feaver or infection
- Anemia
- Cancer or are undergoing cancer treatment
- Blood-thinning medication
Pregnancy
- Open wounds or skin conditions
Varicose veins in the treatment area
After the treatment it's good to rest — it's recommended to avoid saunas, baths, and strenuous exercise. Hygiene and safety come first, with professional-grade equipment and disinfectants used throughout. I provide cupping treatments at Haapamäen Suoja, in the downstairs sauna section.
